World Food Day is a worldwide event designed to increase awareness, understanding and informed year-round action to alleviate hunger.
The first World Food Day was in 1981. It is observed each October 16th in recognition of the founding of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 1945.
Paul’s Pantry will observe World Food Day this year on , Monday October 16th 2017. It marks the 36th observance of World Food Day.
GUESTS WILL INCLUDE:
Our ceremony will take place on Monday October 16th at 10:00 a.m.; the pantry will have a brief program reflecting on the hungry of the world and our local community. BISHOP RICKEN will lead us in prayer and share some reflections on hunger and the Christian response.
Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt, will deliver a proclamation declaring October 16th 2017, as World Food Day in Green Bay.
